The coach has been forced to call up two ES Setif players to replace the injured Anthar Yahia and Rafik Halliche.
Algerian national team coach Rabah Saadane has made two changes to his roster ahead of the Fennecs’ August 12 friendly versus Uruguay.
The trainer was forced to call up two Entente Sportive de Setif players, Abdelkader Laifaoui and Smail Diss, after VfL Bochum’s Anthar Yahia and Nacional de Madeira’s Rafik Halliche both pulled out due to unspecified injuries.
Meanwhile, Saadane also allowed Celta Vigo forward Kamel Fathi Ghilas to leave the team’s training camp to deal with some personal issues with his family. It is unclear whether this will affect his ability to partake in Wednesday’s match.
Finally, Lazio’s Mourad Meghni has been training with his team-mates after receiving a ceremonial welcome upon his return to the North African country following an eight-year absence. He is now fully eligible to represent Algeria after FIFA’s rule change regarding the age after which players can no longer switch national team allegiances.
